WORKING AT UPMOST GROUP

Working at Upmost Group combines practical face-to-face sales experience with structured training and performance-based development. Our Croydon team represents established brands through direct customer acquisition campaigns.

What does the role involve day to day?

The working day begins at our Croydon office with campaign updates, product training, sales practice and preparation for the field. Representatives then travel to an assigned territory to speak directly with potential customers.

Depending on the campaign, these conversations may take place at customers’ homes or in other approved face-to-face environments. The role is field-based and involves approaching customers, explaining the relevant product or service, answering questions and helping suitable customers complete an application.

Representatives are expected to follow the campaign process, customer-service requirements and compliance standards. Performance is monitored using activity and sales results, but customer understanding and the quality of each application are equally important.

The role suits people who are comfortable speaking with new people, working towards measurable goals and developing through practical coaching and experience.

PAY AND WORKING ARRANGEMENTS

HOW THE HYBRID PAY STRUCTURE WORKS

Upmost Group uses a hybrid earnings structure that combines base pay with performance-related commission. It is not a commission-only structure.

Commission gives representatives the opportunity to increase their earnings through results, while the base-pay element provides a financial safety net during a completed working week if sales do not reach the expected standard.

The standard five-day structure provides a £400 base alongside commission. Representatives are expected to work towards an average of approximately one sale per day, with a checkpoint of three sales by the end of Wednesday to continue working on Thursday and Friday.

Under the current structure, completing four working days provides a £200 base. Three days or fewer are paid through commission. The applicable commission rates, qualifying sales, cancellation adjustments and payment timings are explained during induction and confirmed in the written agreement.

The hybrid structure is designed to provide support while representatives develop, while still rewarding strong performance. Applicants are encouraged to review the full terms and ask any questions before accepting an opportunity.

HOW DOES MANAGEMENT PROGRESSION WORK?

Progression at Upmost Group is performance-based and criteria-led. It is not automatic, guaranteed or based solely on how long someone has been with the company.

Representatives begin by developing consistent field performance, customer-service standards and reliable working habits. Those who demonstrate the required standards can begin learning how to train and support newer representatives.

Further development can include leading field activity, coaching team members, monitoring performance, recruitment, public speaking, administration and campaign management. Later stages introduce the commercial responsibilities involved in operating and developing a team.

Each stage requires representatives to demonstrate competence before taking on additional responsibility. The speed of progression therefore differs between individuals and depends on their results, conduct, consistency and ability to develop other people.

COMMON QUESTIONS

IS THE ROLE JUST DOOR-TO-DOOR SALES?

The role begins with field-based face-to-face sales, which can include speaking with customers at their homes. However, sales is just the first of the 10 modules designed to develop representatives into management. So no, its not just door-to-door sales.

IS THE ROLE COMMISSION-ONLY?

No. Upmost Group uses a hybrid structure combining base pay with performance-tied commission. The base provides a safety net during completed working weeks, while commission rewards stronger results. The applicable criteria and payment terms are explained during induction and confirmed in writing.

ARE REPRESENTATIVES EMPLOYED OR SELF-EMPLOYED?

Representative opportunities are offered on a self-employed basis, giving individuals the flexibility to manage their own schedule, work independently and build their earnings through their own performance. Full details about working status, payment terms, relevant expenses, tax and National Insurance responsibilities are explained clearly before any agreement is signed.

IS PROGRESSION TO MANAGEMENT GUARANTEED?

No. Progression is performance-based and criteria-led. Representatives must demonstrate consistent results, strong standards and the ability to train and develop others before taking on additional responsibility. We’re looking for people who are excited by performance based progression. They move into management a lot faster.
